Delal Women's Solidarity and Life Center Opened

The opening was attended by TJA Activist Ayla Akat Ata, Van Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Neslihan Şedal, many district municipality co-mayors, women council members, Peace Mothers, women's organizations, cooperatives, and dozens of women. A powerful gathering took place in Erciş, making the presence and determination of women visible with their colors, slogans, and spirit of solidarity.

The center encompasses many areas aimed at empowering women both socially and economically. The Women's Works Library stands out with its rich archive filled with works produced by women themselves. Here, women will look at history from a female perspective, access information, and embark on a “journey of self-discovery” by tracing the footprints of their own stories.

The Women's Labor Market within the center offers an important space that makes women's labor visible. Women's handmade products and productions will find buyers in this market; women will have the opportunity to strengthen economically.

Erciş Municipality Co-Mayor Güler Temel stated, “We women are the ones who create society; we are the laborers, we are the producers. As half of society, we will emerge stronger from our free living spaces and become the leading force of change and transformation,” and with the opening of the center, these women have taken a new step towards solidarity.

The Delal Women's Solidarity and Life Center represents an important need and value in Erciş as a place where women are empowered, produce together, and foster a free life.
