30 Thousand Acorns Meet the Soil in Erciş

Erciş Municipality's Parks and Gardens Directorate, Erciş Municipality Ecology Commission, Van Ecology Association (Van Eko-Der), and our Co-Mayors participated in an important ecological project in Hostêkâr Neighborhood.

Erciş Municipality's Parks and Gardens Directorate, Erciş Municipality Ecology Commission, Van Ecology Association (Van Eko-Der), and our Co-Mayors participated in an important ecological project in Hostêkâr Neighborhood. In order to strengthen the oak ecosystem, which is critical for the sustainability of nature, 30 thousand acorns were brought together with the soil in the region.

The campaign carried out by the Van Ecology Association with the slogan "Collect an acorn, plant an acorn" continues to grow with the participation and solidarity of the public. The association aims to bring a total of 700 thousand acorns together with nature.

Many citizens participated in the event, and the planting of acorns became a strong example of nature defense and social solidarity.

In a statement after the event, our Co-Mayors emphasized that protecting nature is a fundamental responsibility of municipal governance and stated:

“The oak is a symbol of resilience, wisdom, and life. Today, we are not just planting an acorn; we are planting breath for our future and life for our soil. In a time when ecological destruction is increasing every day, protecting and rejuvenating nature is our greatest responsibility. Doing this work together with our citizens further strengthens our solidarity with nature. Our ecological efforts will continue resolutely to make Erciş a greener, more livable city.”
