Visit from the Van Metropolitan Women's Council to Our Municipality

The Van Metropolitan Municipality Women's Council made a meaningful visit to our municipality. The visit was attended by Van Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Neslihan Şedal along with the co-mayors and council members of district municipalities. Among those present at the visit were; İpekyolu Municipality Co-Mayor Canan Uzunay, Muradiye Municipality Co-Mayor Hediye Sayıner, Çatak Municipality Co-Mayor Gülten Baran, Tuşba Municipality Co-Mayor Hanım Akkoş, Başkale Municipality Co-Mayor Şengül Polat, and Gürpınar Municipality Co-Mayor Mukaddes Karakoç. During the visit, projects planned to be implemented for women were discussed. The importance of women taking a more active role in decision-making mechanisms and strengthening women's representation was emphasized. Additionally, mutual exchanges of views were held on the problems faced by women living in the city and proposed solutions to these issues. The visit was productive in terms of developing women-focused initiatives and strengthening inter-institutional cooperation. Our municipality's co-mayors expressed their gratitude for the kind visit and stated that efforts would continue resolutely to ensure that women have a stronger presence in social, economic, and administrative fields.
